In a significant move to revitalize the national healthcare system, the Sri Lankan government has officially restarted 25 major hospital infrastructure projects as of June 2026.

These initiatives, originally launched between 2014 and 2024, had been halted due to the global pandemic and national economic challenges.

Nalinda Jayatissa, the government has committed an investment of Rs. 76 billion to complete these facilities over a three-year period.

The program includes the completion of vital infrastructure such as cancer treatment centers, maternal and child health units, cardiac care facilities, and modern surgical complexes.
重要地標包括雷迪瑞奇威醫院(Lady Ridgeway Hospital)的「小心臟」(Little Hearts)心臟單位，以及康提國家醫院的擴建工程。
Additionally, the government is focusing on administrative upgrades and sustainability, such as installing 15 medical waste incinerators across the country.
