In a major boost for scientific transparency, CERN has been selected to lead a new phase of Open Research Europe (ORE).

Originally launched in 2021 by the European Commission, ORE provides a venue for researchers to share findings without the traditional fees associated with commercial journals.

CERN will supply the technical backbone using open-source software, leveraging its deep expertise in managing large-scale data platforms like Zenodo.

Articles are published immediately after initial checks, followed by a transparent post-publication peer review process where reviewer identities are public.
