Over 1,000 hidden coral reefs discovered off the Australian coast
科學家最近公布了海洋科學的一項重大突破：繪製出了澳大利亞北岸外一千多座之前未被發現的珊瑚礁。
Scientists have recently unveiled a major breakthrough in marine science: the mapping of over 1,000 previously undiscovered coral reefs off the northern coast of Australia.
這項由澳大利亞海洋科學研究所與昆士蘭大學合作的計畫，首次全面呈現了這些從西澳延伸至約克角半島的隱藏生態系。
This project, a collaborative effort between the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the University of Queensland, provides the first comprehensive view of these hidden ecosystems stretching from Western Australia to the Cape York Peninsula.

Researchers were able to map these reefs without setting sail, instead using clever satellite imagery analysis.

In total, the team identified over 3,600 coral reefs and 2,900 rocky reefs.
