Every year on April 4, the world marks the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.

Proclaimed by the United Nations in 2005, this day highlights the ongoing danger of landmines, explosive remnants of war (ERW), and improvised explosive devices.
為了解決此問題，聯合國地雷行動處不僅協調全球的清除工作，真正的「地雷行動」還包括為社區提供風險教育、協助倖存者康復、銷毀庫存，以及提倡如《禁止殺傷性地雷公約》等國際條約。
To address this, the UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) coordinates global efforts beyond just physical removal.

True 'mine action' includes providing risk education for communities, rehabilitating survivors, destroying stockpiles, and advocating for international treaties like the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
