自動車業界の重大な転換として、ソニーとホンダは合弁会社であるソニー・ホンダモビリティ（SHM）の規模を縮小することを決定しました。

2022年にソニーの技術力とホンダの製造力を融合させる目的で設立されたこの提携は、当初、電気自動車「AFEELA」の開発を目指していました。
Launched in 2022 to combine Sony’s tech expertise with Honda’s manufacturing, the partnership originally aimed to create the AFEELA electric vehicle.
しかし、2026年3月25日、両社はAFEELAのセダン型と計画されていた第2弾のEVモデル双方の開発計画を中止しました。
However, on March 25, 2026, the companies canceled plans for both the AFEELA 1 sedan and a second planned EV model.
この決定は、世界的な電気自動車市場の冷え込み、税優遇措置の喪失、そして海外の競合他社との激しい競争が要因となっています。
This decision was driven by a cooling global electric vehicle market, the loss of tax incentives, and stiff competition from international rivals.
2026年4月時点で、SHMの400人の従業員は、親会社やその関連会社へ再配置されています。
As of April 2026, the 400 employees of SHM are being reassigned back to the parent companies or their affiliates.
AFEELAの車両プロジェクト自体は公式に終了しましたが、ソニーとホンダはパートナーシップが完全に終わったわけではないと主張しています。
While the specific AFEELA vehicle project is officially dead, Sony and Honda insist the partnership is not fully finished.
