Patients return to Saskatchewan health center following wildfire evacuation

2026年6月初旬、サスカチュワン州シェルブルックにあるパークランド統合保健センターは、患者と長期ケア施設の入居者を再び迎え入れました。
In early June 2026, the Parkland Integrated Health Centre in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, welcomed back its patients and long-term care residents.
この帰還は、ロブスティック火災の接近を受けて実施された予防的な避難が成功したことに伴うものです。
This return followed a successful, precautionary evacuation triggered by the approaching Lobstick Fire.
5月29日、サスカチュワン州保健局(SHA)は、安全性を確保するため、長期ケア施設の入居者33名と急性期ケアの患者20名を含む計53名の人々を地域内の様々な施設へ移送しました。
On May 29, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) relocated 53 individuals, including 33 long-term care residents and 20 acute care patients, to various facilities across the region to ensure their safety.
この期間中、施設は救急サービスのために開かれていましたが、避難は脆弱な入居者を守るために必要な措置でした。
While the facility remained open for emergency services during this period, the evacuation was a necessary step to protect vulnerable residents.
山火事が鎮静化に向かい、約80%の封じ込めに成功したことから、地域の避難命令が解除され、6月2日より帰還プロセスが開始されました。
As the wildfire was brought under control—reaching approximately 80% containment—and local evacuation orders were lifted, the repatriation process began on June 2.
6月3日の水曜日までには、すべての患者と入居者が安全に施設に戻りました。
By Wednesday, June 3, every patient and resident had safely returned home.

This complex operation was made possible through the dedicated teamwork of the SHA, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, EMS teams, and local community partners.
