On April 24, 2026, a milestone for educational equity was reached in Pune, India, with the opening of Asia's first UNESCO Chair on Gender Inclusion and Skill Development at the Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU).
シンバイオシス・スキル・アンド・プロフェッショナル大学（SSPU）にて、アジア初となるユネスコチェア「ジェンダー包摂とスキル開発」が開設されたのです。

スワティ・ムジュムダール博士が率いるこの取り組みは、人工知能、ロボット工学、半導体技術といった成長産業における男女格差を埋めることを目的としています。

恵まれない地域の女性に焦点を当てることで、このチェアは重要な研究拠点として機能し、職業訓練を現代の産業ニーズに合わせたカリキュラムを作成しています。
By focusing on women from underserved communities, the Chair serves as a vital research hub, creating curricula that align vocational training with modern industry needs.
このプロジェクトは、ジェンダー平等と教育に関する世界目標、特に国連の持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）の4番と5番を支援するものです。
The project supports global goals for gender equality and education, specifically addressing UN SDGs 4 and 5.
今回の開設は、「未来の働き方をリードする女性たち」と題された会議と同時開催であり、技術分野への女性の参加を阻む構造的障壁を取り除く必要性が強調されました。
This launch coincides with the 'Women Leading the Future of Work' conference, highlighting the urgent need to remove systemic barriers to female participation in technical fields.
すでに1万人以上の女性が予備段階を通じて訓練を受け、専門的な役割に就いていることから、このイニシアチブはインドの労働力を大幅に強化すると期待されています。
With over 10,000 girls already trained and successfully placed in professional roles through preliminary phases, the initiative is poised to significantly strengthen India’s workforce.
