Artemis II mission prepares for upcoming April launch
The Artemis II mission is currently in its final stages of preparation at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
Scheduled for a historic liftoff on April 1, 2026, this mission will send four astronauts on a ten-day flight around the Moon.
Using the powerful Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, the crew of the Orion spacecraft includes Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen.
Beyond breaking records, the primary goal is to test Orion’s life support and navigation systems.
This data is crucial for the future of the Artemis program, which aims to establish a long-term human presence on the Moon and eventually land astronauts on the lunar surface.
