Secret Service Investigates Gunfire Near White House
Shortly after midnight on Sunday, April 5, 2026, the U.S.
Secret Service investigated reports of gunfire near Lafayette Park, located just north of the White House.
President Donald Trump was inside the White House for the holiday weekend at the time, but normal operations continued without interruption.
The Secret Service is currently working with the Metropolitan Police and U.S.
Park Police to identify a person of interest and a vehicle linked to the incident.
The investigation remains active, and authorities have confirmed there is no immediate threat to the White House complex.
