FBI Investigating Deadly Mass Shooting at Austin Bar
On March 1, 2026, a tragic mass shooting occurred outside Buford's Backyard Beer Garden in downtown Austin, Texas.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne drove an SUV around the district before opening fire on bar patrons with a pistol and an AR-15–style rifle.
The attack resulted in the deaths of three victims: Ryder Harrington, Savitha Shan, and Jorge Pederson, along with fifteen others injured.
Currently, the Austin Police Department and the FBI are conducting a joint investigation.
Authorities are focusing on a potential terrorism motive, as evidence found on the suspect—including specific clothing and imagery—suggests a possible link to recent international political tensions.
