NASA Prepares Artemis II Rocket for Upcoming April Launch
NASA is finalizing preparations for the historic Artemis II mission, set to launch on April 1, 2026.
This monumental event marks the first crewed flight of the Space Launch System and the Orion spacecraft, representing humanity's return to lunar vicinity for the first time since 1972.
Following technical repairs in the Vehicle Assembly Building, the massive rocket was moved to Launch Pad 39B on March 20.
The four-member crew, including NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, has officially begun pre-flight quarantine.
During this 10-day mission, the team will test vital life support and navigation systems, paving the way for future human exploration of the Moon and Mars.
Despite previous challenges with fuel leaks and weather, NASA remains committed to rigorous safety standards.
