U.S. President's signature to appear on new currency
Starting in June 2026, the United States will introduce a historic change to its paper currency.
For the first time in history, the signature of the sitting U.S.
President will appear on banknotes.
Under this new policy, the President’s signature will replace that of the Treasurer of the United States.
Lynn Malerba will serve as the final Treasurer to hold this honor.
The rollout will begin with the $100 bill, while the signatures of the Treasury Secretary and the President will now represent the authority behind the bills.
Treasury officials state that this update is part of a broader commemoration of the nation's 250th anniversary.
