Norway's sovereign fund reports record profits from tech investments

Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund, has announced record-breaking results for the first half of 2026.

With a profit of 1.75 trillion Norwegian kroner, or approximately $184.3 billion, the fund has reached new heights, driven primarily by a surge in technology and artificial intelligence investments.

The fund achieved an impressive 9.4% return during this period, bringing its total value to nearly $2.34 trillion by June 30, 2026.

CEO Nicolai Tangen credited the success to high demand for semiconductors, specifically naming industry giants like Nvidia and TSMC.
