On September 7, 2026, music legend Sir Elton John delighted over 100,000 fans by headlining the Rock in Rio festival.
While Elton officially concluded his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in 2023, he has not fully retired from music.
Instead, he is shifting his focus toward special, selective performances, prioritizing meaningful connections over grueling travel schedules.
This Brazil show was particularly significant as it served as emotional reparation for his absence during his final world tour.
Returning to Brazil for the first time since 2017, the singer honored his unique bond with the local audience by performing the track Skyline Pigeon.
This song, a massive hit in Brazil due to its feature in the classic telenovela Carinhoso, remains a staple of his Brazilian setlists.
The evening also featured a special guest, legendary songwriter Gilberto Gil, adding to the magic of the night.
Closing with his timeless anthem Your Song, Elton reminded the world that while his touring days are behind him, his passion for performance remains as vibrant as ever.
With recent projects like his 2025 album with Brandi Carlile, it is clear that Elton John’s artistic journey is far from over.
