In September 2026, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister shared his disappointment regarding his current contract situation.
Although his deal runs until 2028, the 27-year-old expressed frustration that the club has not offered him an extension, despite his teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch receiving new deals recently.
Speaking before a Champions League match against Atlético Madrid, the Argentine midfielder revealed that his agent was told the club is not currently in a position to offer a renewal.
He confirmed that while there were opportunities to depart during the summer, he chose to stay because of his commitment to Liverpool.
As Liverpool navigates its long-term financial strategy, this situation highlights the delicate balance between player expectations and club management.
For now, Mac Allister remains fully dedicated to the team, promising to give his best effort on the pitch until his contract status is resolved.
