The U.S. government has announced a significant $50 million pledge to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to combat the growing outbreak of the Bundibugyo ebolavirus.

This rare strain of Ebola, currently spreading through parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, has already caused hundreds of cases and over 100 deaths.
