In September 2026, Swedish pop star Zara Larsson publicly condemned the White House for using her track "Midnight Sun" in an unauthorized TikTok video.
The video, posted by the official White House account, featured footage of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents performing arrests.
Larsson hit back with her own video, calling the administration "losers" and criticizing the post as a dehumanizing use of real people for political gain.
This incident is part of a larger pattern, as the White House previously used her song "Lush Life" for pro-ICE content earlier that year.
Larsson, who has been a vocal critic of immigration policies, joins a growing roster of artists—including Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo—who have publicly objected to their music being used for political messaging.
