By integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their highway management, the NHAI is moving from reactive repairs to a proactive, data-driven strategy.

A key feature of this initiative is the use of AI-powered dashcams on Route Patrol Vehicles, which travel across 40,000 kilometers of highway to scan for defects.

These systems can automatically identify over 30 types of hazards, ranging from potholes and faded road markings to illegal parking and structural damage.
