Carried into orbit by a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, this advanced observatory is poised to revolutionize our understanding of the universe.
該任務以NASA首位天文學主管、哈伯太空望遠鏡(Hubble Space Telescope)背後的推手南希·葛瑞斯·羅曼為名，旨在揭開圍繞暗能量(dark energy)、暗物質(dark matter)及龐大系外行星(exoplanets)普查的謎團。
Named in honor of Nancy Grace Roman, NASA’s first chief of astronomy and the visionary behind the Hubble Space Telescope, the mission aims to unlock mysteries surrounding dark energy, dark matter, and the vast census of exoplanets.
目前，望遠鏡正前往其目的地——位於150萬公里外的日地拉格朗日點2(Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2，簡稱L2)。
Currently, the telescope is traveling to its destination at the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2 (L2), located 1.5 million kilometers away.
