This vision, tied to the Viksit Bharat 2047 goal, follows a decade of explosive growth where the sector expanded from $10 billion in 2014 to over $165 billion today.

A key engine for this transformation is the BioE3 Policy, which focuses on biomanufacturing to boost the economy, environment, and employment.

Currently, the bio-industrial sector leads the market, accounting for nearly 47% of the total value, followed by biopharma, bio-IT, and bio-agriculture.

The startup ecosystem has also thrived, exploding from just 50 companies a decade ago to over 11,000 today.
