2026年8月29日，冰島將舉行全國公投，以決定是否重啟加入歐盟的談判。
On 29 August 2026, Iceland will hold a national referendum to decide whether to resume negotiations for European Union membership.
此次投票是在2024年國會大選後進行的，當時由支持加入歐盟的社會民主聯盟領導的聯合政府贏得執政權，重新點燃了沉寂十多年的辯論。
This vote follows the 2024 parliamentary elections, where a coalition led by the pro-EU Social Democratic Alliance took power, reigniting a debate that had been dormant for over a decade.
冰島曾在2009年嚴重金融危機後申請加入歐盟，但該進程於2015年因國內對於國家主權的擔憂而中止。
Iceland previously applied for membership in 2009 during the aftermath of a severe financial crisis, but the process was halted by 2015 due to domestic concerns regarding national sovereignty, particularly over the vital fishing industry.
儘管冰島已透過歐洲經濟區和申根區與歐洲整合，但目前在布魯塞爾並無投票權。
While Iceland is already integrated with Europe through the European Economic Area and the Schengen Area, it currently has no voting power in Brussels.
