此次訪問正值北韓勞動黨成立80週年，並正式啟動了「越南–北韓友好年」。

北韓視越南的「革新開放」(doi moi)經濟改革為發展模式的典範，而越南則利用此接觸來實踐其「竹子外交」，以平衡其在全球的利益。
North Korea views Vietnam's 'Doi Moi' economic reforms as a model for development, while Vietnam uses this engagement to practice 'bamboo diplomacy,' balancing its global interests.
由於國際社會對北韓核計畫的制裁，兩國間的貿易往來依然有限，且越南必須審慎處理其與南韓及日本的夥伴關係。
Due to international sanctions on North Korea's nuclear program, trade remains minimal, and Vietnam must carefully manage its partnerships with South Korea and Japan.
歸根結底，目前的關係較偏向政黨間的交流與文化聯繫，而非大規模的經濟項目，這反映了越南在外交事務上務實且獨立自主的立場。
Ultimately, the current relationship focuses more on party-level exchanges and cultural ties than large-scale economic projects, reflecting Vietnam's pragmatic and independent approach to foreign affairs.
