毎年8月9日、世界では「世界の先住民族の国際デー」が記念されています。

1994年に国連によって制定されたこの日は、1982年に開催された国連先住民族作業部会の第1回会合の記念日に由来します。
Established by the United Nations in 1994, this day marks the anniversary of the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations in 1982.
