On September 8, 2026, 21-year-old British cycling sensation Matthew Brennan made history at the Vuelta a España.
This win was masterfully set up by his teammate, Wout van Aert, who provided a flawless lead-out in the final meters.
Known as 'The Binman' for his uncanny ability to clean up at the finish line, the Darlington-born rider has become the youngest to win four stages in a single Vuelta since 1936.
This marks a massive milestone for both Brennan and the Visma-Lease a Bike team, which has already claimed six stages in this edition.
While Enric Mas continues to hold the red jersey in the General Classification, all eyes are on the young Briton.
With his eyes now set on the Tour de France, especially with its upcoming UK start, Brennan’s rapid rise from track cyclist to Grand Tour star is officially one of the season's greatest stories.
