As of April 1, 2026, NASA is making final preparations for the historic Artemis II mission.
乗組員はオリオン宇宙船に搭乗して10日間の旅に出て、月の裏側を周回するフリーリターン軌道を飛行した後、太平洋に着水する予定です。
The crew will embark on a 10-day journey aboard the Orion spacecraft, looping around the Moon on a free-return trajectory before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
ミッションは月面に着陸するものではありませんが、スペース・ローンチ・システム（SLS）ロケットと生命維持システムにとって重要なテストとなります。
While the mission will not land on the lunar surface, it is a critical test for the Space Launch System rocket and life-support systems.
4名の乗組員には、NASAの宇宙飛行士であるリード・ワイズマン、ビクター・グローバー、クリスティーナ・コックに加え、カナダ宇宙庁のジェレミー・ハンセンが選ばれました。
The four-person crew includes NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, alongside Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency.
最終的に、収集されたデータは、将来の月面着陸や火星への有人探査という長期目標に向けたNASAの技術向上に役立てられます。
Ultimately, the data collected will help NASA refine technology for future lunar landings and the long-term goal of sending humans to Mars.
