ムンバイ・クリケット協会（MCA）はマハーラーシュトラ州政府と提携し、ナビムンバイに10万人収容の巨大なクリケットスタジアムを建設するという野心的な計画を発表しました。
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), in partnership with the Maharashtra government, has announced ambitious plans to build a massive 100,000-seat cricket stadium in Navi Mumbai.
現在、歴史あるヴァンケデ・スタジアムの収容人数は約3万3,000人にとどまっており、IPLのプレーオフや国際的なICCトーナメントなどの大きなイベントにはもはや不十分です。
Currently, the historic Wankhede Stadium holds only about 33,000 spectators, which is no longer enough for big events like IPL playoffs or international ICC tournaments.
ナビムンバイがこのプロジェクトの場所に選ばれたのは、近代的なインフラと新しい国際空港への近さが理由です。
Navi Mumbai was chosen for this project because of its modern infrastructure and its close proximity to the new international airport.
MCAのアジンキャ・ナイク会長は現在、CIDCOと連携して、合計約70エーカーに及ぶ土地の最終決定を進めています。
MCA President Ajinkya Naik is currently working with CIDCO to finalize the land, which will span roughly 70 acres in total.
