New urgent care center opens in South Surrey to reduce hospital pressure
Residents of South Surrey have a new health resource.
On April 15, 2026, a new Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) opened at the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre.
Located at 1711 152 Street, this facility is designed to provide quick, team-based care for non-life-threatening health issues, helping to ease the pressure on local hospital emergency departments.
Patients can expect care from a diverse team, including physicians, nurses, and social workers.
For those with more severe conditions like chest pain, the facility reminds everyone to call 9-1-1 instead.
This new location, funded by the province and Fraser Health, is the 48th UPCC in British Columbia, representing a major step in strengthening community health services for a growing population.
