Michigan Hospital Deploys Oxygen Refills After Winter Storm
In the spring of 2025, a historic ice storm swept through Northern Michigan, leaving over 100,000 residents without power and blocking critical roads with fallen trees.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency across ten counties, including Alpena, Montmorency, and Mackinac.
To address this, officials established emergency oxygen refill stations at the Indian River Emergency Management Services building and the MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.
Furthermore, approximately 300 oxygen tanks were distributed to Montmorency County, while the Michigan National Guard provided support for road clearing and managed emergency room overflow.
