On June 8, 2026, India achieved a historic milestone at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Facing Afghanistan in a one-off Test match, India secured their largest-ever Test victory, winning by an innings and 300 runs.
India dominated from the start after opting to bat, putting up a massive 564/8 declared, bolstered by centuries from Shubman Gill and KL Rahul.
Afghanistan struggled significantly against the Indian spin attack, being bowled out for 152 and 112 in their respective innings.
This victory surpassed India's previous record win of an innings and 272 runs set in 2018.
With this decisive red-ball performance complete, the two teams now look forward to a three-match ODI series starting on June 13, 2026.
