Hardik and Navneet named Players-of-the-Year at Hockey India Awards
On March 27, 2026, the 8th Hockey India Annual Awards in New Delhi celebrated the country's brightest hockey talents.
The highlight of the evening was when Hardik Singh and Navneet Kaur were named Players of the Year.
Both athletes received the prestigious Balbir Singh Sr.
Award and a cash prize of ₹20 lakh.
For star midfielder Hardik Singh, this marks his third time winning the top honor, adding to his success as a two-time Olympic medalist.
Meanwhile, Navneet Kaur was recognized for her stellar performance as Player of the Tournament during the 2026 FIH World Cup Qualifiers.
The ceremony also honored hockey legend Zafar Iqbal with the Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the sport, including his 1980 Olympic gold victory.
Other awards recognized talent across various positions, with honors going to players like goalkeeper Bichu Devi Kharibam and defender Sanjay.
The event also highlighted the recent success of the national teams, specifically celebrating the men's gold medal at the 2025 Asia Cup.
