In August 2026, the Australian entertainment industry was shaken by the conviction of prominent manager Ralph Carr.
A jury in the County Court of Victoria found Carr guilty of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The crimes took place in March 2023 at his Melbourne residence, involving a former employee who had met with him to discuss professional opportunities.
The victim provided testimony over four days in a closed court, while Carr chose not to testify.
This order, initially granted due to mental health concerns, was lifted in August 2026 when he withdrew his request for its continuation.
Legal proceedings are expected to continue as his defense team pursues an appeal.
