On June 14, 2026, Australia concluded their ODI series against Bangladesh in Mirpur with a nail-biting one-wicket victory.
Although Bangladesh had already secured their first-ever ODI series win against the Australians by taking the first two matches, Australia's win in the final game prevented a humiliating series whitewash.
The highlight of the match was 22-year-old Cooper Connolly, who struck a magnificent maiden international century, scoring 149 runs off 134 balls.
Despite battling severe cramps, Connolly anchored the chase after Bangladesh posted a solid 274/5, led by Towhid Hridoy's 83.
The match turned dramatic when Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam took a career-best 6 for 48, causing a late-innings collapse that left Australia teetering on the edge of defeat.
While Bangladesh celebrated their 2-1 series triumph, both teams now shift their focus to the upcoming three-game T20 series in Chittagong, starting this Wednesday.
