US government offers disaster loans to storm-hit businesses in Illinois
Following the devastating tornadoes and severe storms that swept through Illinois in March 2026, the U.S.
Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced a vital financial support program.
Governor J.B.
Pritzker confirmed on April 10, 2026, that federal disaster loans are now available for residents and business owners in Kankakee, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Livingston, and Will counties.
Businesses and eligible nonprofits can access up to $2 million for physical repairs or apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) to manage fixed debts like payroll during this recovery period.
To ensure community access, the SBA is opening specialized outreach centers.
Applicants should visit the official SBA portal online to begin the process.
