Toronto stadium completes upgrades for FIFA World Cup 2026
Toronto’s BMO Field is ready for the global stage.
Recently, the stadium completed a massive $146 million renovation to meet FIFA’s standards for the 2026 World Cup.
During the tournament, the venue will be known simply as "Toronto Stadium" to adhere to FIFA’s policy against corporate-branded names.
Beyond seating, the stadium now features four new LED screens, an upgraded control room, and better Wi-Fi and lighting systems.
Toronto is set to host six matches, starting on June 12, 2026, which will be a historic first for a men’s World Cup match on Canadian soil.
As FIFA takes control in May 2026, the city eagerly awaits the arrival of soccer fans from around the world.
