Artemis II mission completes successful moon journey
On April 10, 2026, the Artemis II mission concluded, marking a historic return to the Moon after over 50 years.
This 10-day mission successfully tested the Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System with a crew of four: Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen.
A highlight of the journey was the lunar flyby, where the crew experienced the quiet of the Moon's far side, temporarily losing communication with Earth.
The mission ended with a successful splashdown in the Pacific Ocean, where the crew was recovered by the U.S.
Navy.
This achievement brings humanity one step closer to establishing a sustainable presence on the Moon and eventually reaching Mars.
