On July 10, 2026, Blaze Entertainment, the maker of the Evercade retro gaming ecosystem, announced significant price increases for its products in the UK and Europe.

The company cited the global AI boom as the primary driver for these rising costs.

As AI datacenters demand massive amounts of memory and flash storage, the supply of components like DRAM and NAND has tightened, causing a spike in costs—a phenomenon analysts are calling 'RAMageddon.'

Blaze Entertainment noted that it had been absorbing these manufacturing and freight costs for some time, but could no longer sustain the pressure.

Consequently, the price of Evercade cartridges has risen to £24.99 and €29.99, while Super Pocket handhelds now cost £59.99 and €69.99 in their respective regions.

Notably, the United States remains unaffected due to favorable tariff reductions.
