New Motorcycle Helmet Standards Introduced in Jamaica

In late March 2026, the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) introduced the JS 374:2025 standard to tackle the high number of motorcycle-related head injuries.
2026年3月下旬、ジャマイカ標準局（BSJ）は、バイクに関連する頭部損傷の多発に対処するため、JS 374:2025規格を導入しました。
Instead of setting isolated requirements, the BSJ now formally recognizes five major international certifications: ECE, DOT, BS, JIS, and SNELL.

By providing clear guidelines to the Jamaica Customs Agency and police, authorities can now better regulate both imports and retail sales.

Furthermore, Jamaica plans to build a regional testing laboratory to support these safety goals long-term.
