な-adjectives

Learn how to describe things in Japanese using basic na-adjectives like quiet, clean, and easy.

Unlike i-adjectives, na-adjectives behave like nouns when they are placed at the end of a sentence. They link directly with です without any spelling changes in their dictionary form:

部屋静かです

The room is quiet.

They can describe various daily situations or physical states:

部屋きれいです

The room is clean.
