い-adjectives

Learn how to describe things in Japanese using basic i-adjectives like big, small, hot, and cold.

In Japanese, i-adjectives (which end in 〜い) can describe a noun directly by combining with です at the end of the sentence to show politeness:

部屋広いです

The room is big.

They can also describe physical belongings:

バッグ小さいです

The bag is small.
