The action sports world recently experienced a major shift with the launch of the MoonPay X Games League (XGL) in Sacramento, California.
The inaugural season kicked off at Cal Expo, where over 100 top-tier athletes showcased their skills in BMX, skateboarding, and motocross.
Each team roster was selected during a competitive draft held in March 2026.
Beyond the adrenaline-filled competitions, fans enjoyed the 'X Fest,' which offered interactive entertainment and nightly concerts featuring stars like Kaskade, Mustard, and Subtronics.
Following the Sacramento opener, the league moves to Japan before concluding with the championship event in New Orleans this July.
According to CEO Jeremy Bloom, this evolution aims to foster deeper connections with fans while preserving the iconic festival spirit of the X Games.
With its strong skateboarding roots, Sacramento proved to be the perfect host for this historic start to a new era in action sports.
