Exciting news for fans of the manga series Wandance!
The highly anticipated live-action film adaptation is officially set to hit Japanese theaters on November 27, 2026.
Based on Coffee’s popular seinen manga serialized in Monthly Afternoon, the story follows Kaboku Kotani, a shy, stuttering high schooler who finds newfound confidence through the art of dance.
After watching his classmate, Hikari Wanda, express herself through movement, Kaboku is inspired to join the dance club.
The film marks an exciting milestone for JO, a member of the boy band &TEAM, who makes his acting debut in the leading role.
Under the direction of Naoya Kusaba, with a screenplay by Keiichi Kobayashi and professional choreography by Charisma Kantaro, the movie aims to capture the same emotional depth found in the 2025 anime series.
Much like beloved coming-of-age stories such as Blue Period, Wandance explores themes of personal freedom and the challenges of adolescence.
With its blend of rhythmic storytelling and heartfelt drama, this adaptation promises to be a standout cinematic experience this November.
