Valve has officially unveiled the Steam Frame, a powerful new standalone, wireless VR headset.
Reservations for this highly anticipated device opened on September 14, 2026, using a randomized system to ensure fair access and prevent scalping.
To sign up, users must have a Steam account with a purchase history prior to April 27, 2026.
The reservation window closes on September 17 at 10:00 AM Pacific.
The headset is available in 256GB and 1TB configurations, priced at $1,059 and $1,299 respectively.
Designed as an open platform consistent with the Steam Deck, the Steam Frame encourages modding and customization, positioning itself as the true successor to the Valve Index.
Prospective buyers will be notified of their status starting September 18.
