Horror fans have a reason to celebrate!
Sony officially announced 'Until Dawn 2' during the PlayStation State of Play event on June 2, 2026.
This highly anticipated sequel is currently in development at Firesprite, a Sony-owned studio, and is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 in 2027.
Unlike the 2015 original, which was created by Supermassive Games, this title marks Firesprite's latest ambitious project.
They travel to a remote, abandoned tropical island for a shoot, only to find themselves facing genuine, ancient supernatural threats.
Fans of the original will be pleased to know that the game retains the iconic 'Butterfly Effect' choice-and-consequence system, where every decision can mean life or death for the characters.
Additionally, actor Peter Stormare is confirmed to return as the unsettling Dr.
With the franchise growing through recent remasters and film adaptations, Sony is successfully positioning 'Until Dawn' as a premier horror anthology series.
