Jetstar introduces new Business Class upgrade program for international flights
Jetstar has officially launched its new "BidCash" upgrade program, a strategic initiative allowing international travelers to bid for Business Class seats on the airline’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner fleet.
Launched in March 2026, this program enables passengers to place cash offers via the Jetstar website, providing a more accessible path to premium travel.
This development perfectly complements the airline's major cabin refurbishment, which doubles Business Class capacity from 21 to 44 seats per aircraft.
The upgraded cabins feature modern amenities, including USB-C power, adjustable headrests, and high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi with "streaming-plus" entertainment.
While BidCash offers an exciting opportunity for upgrades, passengers should note that original fare conditions remain, and these specific upgrades lack the flexibility of standard Business Class tickets.
Looking ahead, Jetstar plans to further enhance the experience by allowing Qantas Frequent Flyer members to use points for upgrades.
By blending a flexible, market-driven bidding system with a significant investment in premium comfort, Jetstar is successfully catering to the growing demand for affordable luxury on long-haul flights.
