On August 10, 2026, the RPSG Group announced a major expansion of its renewable energy business.
Its subsidiary, Purvah Green Power, is acquiring a 1.4 GWp solar portfolio from ReNew Solar Power for ₹4,859 crore, or about US$509 million.
This portfolio includes six operational solar projects based in Rajasthan and Karnataka.
This acquisition is a strategic milestone for the RPSG Group.
It boosts their total renewable capacity from 3.4 GWp to 4.8 GWp, marking a shift from only building new projects to owning stable, revenue-generating assets.
Most of this capacity is backed by long-term power purchase agreements, some lasting up to 25 years.
This deal brings the group significantly closer to its ambitious target of reaching a 10 GW renewable energy platform within the next few years.
Post-acquisition, the company's portfolio will consist of 1.8 GWp of operational capacity and 3 GWp under development.
Additionally, the group is expanding into battery energy storage with 2.2 GWh of capacity underway.
The transaction is expected to conclude by October 2026, solidifying the RPSG Group's position in India's clean energy sector.
