On September 8, 2026, Riot Games released Patch 1.3.1, the final major update for its 2v2 tag-team fighting game, 2XKO.
The update introduces Lux, a versatile mage known for her aerial mobility and projectile zoning, providing players with a fresh combat experience.
Importantly, the gameβs progression system has been overhauled: all champions are now unlocked for everyone, and traditional monetization methods like the Battle Pass and Champion Tokens have been removed in favor of a simpler credit-based system.
Beyond the updates, Riot confirmed that while major development is wrapping up, 2XKO servers will stay online for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S players.
Although official active updates will cease, the competitive scene will thrive through community-led tournaments, ensuring that 2XKO remains a playable fixture for its dedicated fanbase long after the final balance patch.
