Riot Games has introduced an exciting new competitive experience for the VALORANT community with the launch of Skirmish: Ascension.

Designed for players looking to test their mechanical prowess, this experimental mode moves away from traditional 5v5 gameplay, offering intense 1v1 and 2v2 matches.

By utilizing a staged weapon system and a limited pool of agent abilities, Skirmish: Ascension highlights pure tactical decision-making.

Players can climb a dedicated competitive ladder on the FTW platform, earning exclusive rewards such as player cards and titles between April 29 and June 22, 2026.

Riot is also looking toward the future, recently announcing a shift toward an all-tournament model for the 2027 season, ensuring that competitive VALORANT remains dynamic both in-game and on the global esports stage.
