Jamaica Stock Exchange Launches New Electronic Bond Trading Platform
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) officially launched a new electronic trading platform for locally issued Government of Jamaica (GOJ) securities.
Powered by the advanced NASDAQ Matching Engine (NME), this initiative is set to modernize the nation's domestic debt market.
By integrating with the Bank of Jamaica’s JamClear®-CSD, the system enables efficient secondary-market trading for various instruments, including treasury bills, bonds, and debentures.
This development represents a strategic milestone in the JSE’s ongoing efforts to create a more sophisticated financial infrastructure.
While the JSE has offered a general bond market since 2013, this specific platform is a major technological upgrade focused exclusively on government debt.
It follows previous successful launches like the USD Bond Market and the Private Market, marking a significant step toward a more digitized and accessible investment landscape for Jamaica.
