London Business School Students Study India's Innovative Climate Finance
In March 2026, 81 postgraduate finance students from the London Business School (LBS) embarked on a six-day study tour across Mumbai and Pune.
This immersive experience allowed students to explore the unique Indian approach to climate finance, moving beyond theory to witness real-world energy transitions.
Faculty leader Vidur Varma described India as a unique model where large-scale investment and grassroots solutions coexist successfully.
Supported by the Wheeler Institute for Business and Development, this initiative underscores LBS's commitment to understanding the "Global South."
Through partnerships like the Climate and Energy Transition Finance Initiative (CETFI), students engaged with industry leaders to examine how private capital can be mobilized for sustainable infrastructure.
By bridging the gap between Global North financial expertise and the practical needs of emerging markets, LBS students gained vital insights into how regulatory evolution and financial innovation are essential to reaching global net-zero goals.
