On September 22, 2026, the innovative nuclear energy firm Newcleo made its official debut on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
Trading under the ticker symbols 'NWCL' and 'NWCLW', the company completed a successful business combination with NewHold Investment Corp III.
This strategic move provided Newcleo with approximately $247 million in gross proceeds, bolstered by a significant $216 million private investment.
Founded in 2021 by physicist Stefano Buono, Newcleo specializes in lead-cooled fast reactors and the conversion of nuclear waste into sustainable mixed-oxide fuel.
The newly acquired capital will support critical projects, including the construction of a 10MWth non-nuclear demonstrator in Italy and the expansion of fuel manufacturing infrastructure across the U.S. and Europe.
Under the leadership of Board Chair Jeffrey Lyash, Newcleo aims to address the growing global demand for clean, low-carbon energy.
By entering the U.S. public market, the company is accelerating its efforts to close the nuclear fuel cycle and solidify its role as a key player in the next generation of modular nuclear technology.
